AIDS  research incorporates all medicinal research that endeavors to prevent, treat, or cure AIDS, as well as fundament research  about the idea of HIV as an infectious agent .   AIDS as the disease brought about by HIV. AIDS is caused  by a human immunodeficiency infection (HIV), which began in non-human primates in Central and West Africa.
